In the rolling farm hills of historic Peacham, VT is a charming antiques and uniques shop run by a lovely couple, Paul and Jean Evans. P.G. Evans Country Home Provisions is situated just off the beaten path (the Danville-Peacham Rd) in an early 1800′s mill house. They boast “an eclectic blend of country furniture and embellishments for your home” and they don’t disappoint. The shop has a wide variety of things to help countrify your home, including furniture (showcasing the hand-made work of Paul) and all sorts of knick-knacks that illustrate theirs love for a good antique hunt and an eye for interesting pieces.
There is something for everyone but your bound to find a bargain. I picked up a large weathered carpenter’s toolbox for just $23, something I had seen at other places for well over $200. The best part of P.G. Evans Country Home Provisions is Paul and Jean themselves, who were kind and warm and we found ourselves chatting for quite a while. This is a perfect edition to a lazy day road trip through the Northeast Kingdom countryside.
Don’t forget to pick up some of Jean’s hand-made soap.
